The special event was quite fun! I wouldn’t do this too often, since the Vintage format is quite hard core. Maybe with various occasions we’ll try other formats as well, especially multiplayer ones.

Results

So let’s look at the board for a second there. We’ve got our winner, Dan Andrei, who played his Jace deck, basically suspending and delaying everything until it was his win. Only Albert managed to take a draw off of Andrei’s Jace, and that happened when time was called. Our other Dan has scored quite well this time around, placing second for the tournament. I guess his red-deck has placed some marks here and there, especially on Bogdan’s first turn-wins deck. Bogdan had learned it takes but a bit of flame to jeopardize clock work.

We’ve also had fun seeing a 244-cards deck see play thanks to Mircea, who couldn’t resist the temptation of proxying 60+ cards. Albert decided to call more and more planeswalkers to his side, but alas more than he could handle. And we’ve had Alin again, the 12 year old who’s elves deck kicked my un-prepared arse in a way I couldn’t quite handle.

Also, we have a new player among us—Vlad—, and I’d love to see more coming! Hey, maybe next year we all gather forces and train a whole new batch… Recruiting is at hand! Since Christmas is coming and everything, people will start making lots of presents. Some of those presents might just be a Magic Theme Deck or a few booster packs. Maybe we can use that to our advantage?
