Only the beginning
December 26th, 2008Well, here we are near the end of 2008, about to draw the line and see what we’ve accomplished during the year that passed. In our community of planeswalkers, who’s only just begun, we’ve accomplished a great deal of tournaments. Here’s a round up of what we’ve played so far:
Tournaments of the year
We’ve started sanctioning events in mid-October, even though our community debuted on the 31st of August with a booster draft. We’ve also participated in the Shards of Alara release party (even though that’s not sanctioned yet), and are looking forward to the prerelease of Conflux this January.

Not all of us have had enough matches so far to be placed in the rankings, but those who did are placed quite well. There are 175 players ranked in Romania for Composite (Limited + Constructed), with rankings between 1809 and 1519. Those of you who don’t find themselves in the above table might need to participate in 1 more tournament to have their rank posted.

I hope to see more and more players joining us in the following year. We’ve already had a newbie joining two weeks ago, but there’s always room for more! In Magic it’s always the more, the merrier.
Magic Player Rewards
Wizards of the Coast is issuing textless spells for those players regularly playing in DCI sanctioned tournaments. Every 5 tournaments you can receive one textless spell wrapped together with an old one. Read more about this program on the official Magic Player Rewards page and get yourself signed up! Also, you can read the Magic Player Rewards FAQ to get even more details about how you’ll get your hands on those cards and when.
What I can say is get signed up as quickly as possible, and you’ll probably get your first few cards at the beginning of the next summer! They’re also issuing plastic DCI cards to replace the hard-paper ones you’ve received when enrolling with the DCI!
