More Standard this Standurday
November 19th, 2008This Saturday we’re playing Standard Constructed. The event will start as usual: gathering around 12:30 and the first round starts at 13:00. I won’t be able to make it to the event this Saturday, since I’ll be out of town. This week’s event will be sanctioned by Alex Trofin and Mydas will assist with the arrangements during the tournament, should it be sanctioned. Remember, we need 8 players to sanction an event.
Why so Standardeous?
As you have noticed, we’ve established a pattern so far, which is unlikely to change unless extraordinary events occur. Like Alex Mîrza “predicted” a few months ago, we’re playing Standard Constructed twice a month, drafting once a month and a Two Headed Giant once a month.
If you’re wondering why we don’t play extended just yet, it’s because the situation would be unbalanced. Many of us have only started their Magic: The Gathering collection just a year ago, others even later. We will start playing Extended tournaments regularly once the Lorwyn block will roll out of standard. Until then, we will have a few Extented tournaments here and there.
Heads-Up
The month of December is a tricky time to be, since it’s the holidays and some of us don’t live in Iasi. Some will go, some will stay. If any of you will be interested we’ll be playing a special event as the last tournament of the year. I haven’t yet decided what it would be, but I have some ideas, which will be posted soon and we’ll decide together.

This event has not been sanctioned because only 6 players participated in the event. The first three places of the played matches are as follows:

2. Albert (kithkin/red mix)
3. Mydas (Alex Diaconu) (white/black aggro control)
