Standard Tournament
October 24th, 2008Tomorrow we’re gathering at the usual place, Amnesia Crem Caffe, to play a Standard Constructed tournament. People are comming in around 12:30, but you may come earlier if you wish to trade cards. If you haven’t played with us before, be sure to bring you DCI card, because this is a sanctioned event. If you do not have a DCI card, we will create one for you on sight.
Please remember that Coldsnap, Time Spiral, Planar Chaos, and Future Sight have rolled out of Standard at the beginning of this month, so cards in those blocks won’t be legal to play tomorrow. The official Magic: The Gathering website has a list of legal card sets. If you wish to see if an older card was reprinted, you may check the Gatherer databases.
Last time we met we discussed a topic a bit sensitive, but the following is a rule we need to set in place, or otherwise lesser and lesser people will attend the events. None of the event participants are allowed to smoke during a round. Between the rounds there are 10 minutes of break, during which you may smoke, but are kindly asked to do so outside. The reason is simple: smoke is disturbing to the non-smoker players. Of course, there’s nothing we can do about the other customers of the caffe, so we’re only trying to lower the number of active smokers in the area. We’re also looking for another location where we can play smoke-free, if possible.

Too bad there weren’t enough players to sanction the event.
We were only 5 people, so instead we played a few one-on-ones and a 2HG. Hope more people will show up at the draft this Saturday!
