Drafting Shards of Alara
October 30th, 2008As planned, this Saturday we’re playing limited. It’s been a month since the Shards of Alara block was released and I’ve seen a lot of decks played for Bant, Esper, Jund and Naya, but not so many for Grixis. Would it’s popularity be different in limited?
Event details
We’re meeting after 12:00 in Amnesia Crem Caffe. Registrations close at 12:50 and the first round starts at 13:00. Registration is 45 lei, which is the value of your 3 booster packs. If you want to pre-register, drop me an email at alexandru.m.birsan at gmail dot com, or contact me on IM at simitus on the Yahoo! network.
New players are always welcome! Just make sure you’re on site before 12:30 so that we can craft you a DCI number if you don’t already have one and register you in the event.
New to drafting or to Shards of Alara?
You can test your drafting skills with the online draft simulator from WotC. Even though it uses three booster packs of the core set, it’s still a good place to get the drafting feeling. Update: There’s another online drafting simulator from Bestiaire, which lets you draft any format, including Shards of Alara! That’s definitely worth checking! (Thanks Albert!)
If you’re new to Shards of Alara, then you definitelly want to check out Gatherer’s Shards of Alara listing and be prepared! It’s essential that you know and understand most of the instants abilities of the cards, so that you don’t have any surprises.
